Mainz 05 have confirmed that Nadiem Amiri will miss this evening’s trip to VfL Bochum’s Ruhrstadion with a knee injury.

A post via the club’s X/Twitter account stated that the midfielder’s absence will be “short-term” therefore a quick comeback is expected.

Mainz return to Bundesliga action next weekend with a trip to face a high-flying SV Elversberg side on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt, who take on Hamburger SV in the DFB-Pokal’s second round tonight, also noted Lilian Brassier’s absence.

Brassier, who joined from Stade Rennais in summer, has been a mainstay in Adi Hütter’s side since his arrival.

The Hessen club – who face HSV again in the Bundesliga this Sunday – said the French defender is also out “with minor knee issues.”
