La Liga’s two leading attacking stars were forced to watch on as Bayern Munich frontman Harry Kane lifted the Ballon d’Or on Monday evening.
Which of Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, though, finished higher in the eventual standings?
The Ballon d’Or ceremony was of course held in the English capital of London a short time ago, as the leading stars from across world football came together for an evening of deserved recognition.
When all was said and done, the headline prize of the evening went the way of the aforementioned Harry Kane, fresh off nothing short of a spectacular 12 months in front of goal.
The England international beat out stiff competition from La Liga pair Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
And the final podium places have since been confirmed, too, with Mbappé having finished as runner-up in the voting, followed by Lamine in third.
