Serie A side Roma have seen talent Emanuele Lulli surprise many this season and has already found the back of the net once. They are now making key progress over renewing his contract.
A product of the club’s famed youth academy, Lulli has established himself as a reliable squad player under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Il Tempo – via Calciomercato, report that while Roma want to make an attacking signing in January, they are keen on securing what they have. The first step towards that is by tying down Lulli and parties have intensified discussions to make progress in that direction.
The wing-back has been handed a deal that will run out in 2031 and a salary very close to €1 million per season, which is due credit to his performances.
Decision can pay off
The fact that Lulli really suits Roma’s system under Gasperini is a huge positive for the Italian, as it really matters to him. He’d have felt the side lacked another option in wing-back areas but Lulli’s growth has only helped him.
Besides, there have been doubts about Wesley’s long-term future and the Italian could be a possible replacement.
