Can Uzun has been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs as a result of his performances for Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Adi Hütter believes the 20-year-old still has plenty to learn if he is to take the next step in his career and fulfil his potential.
“The sooner Can understands that football is also a team sport in which he can contribute his abilities, the more successful his career will be. Otherwise, he could potentially end up standing in his own way,” Hütter said at a press conference on Friday.
“He’s a very good footballer, there’s no need to debate that. But I also expect consistency. And I expect Can Uzun to demonstrate his abilities during the week as well as in matches.”
Uzun’s defensive work rate has been a recurring point of criticism in recent years.
After beginning the season as a regular starter, the Turkey international has been left on the bench for Eintracht Frankfurt’s last two matches.
