Nikita Haikin, goalkeeper of Bodø/Glimt, has criticized the antics of Viking FK players during their 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
“First of all, earning a point is impressive. They played against the best team in the world, in my opinion,” he told TV channel Nettavisen.
“But I think we have to remember that, first and foremost, we are athletes, right? And there are a lot of young people watching us.
“There were many moments yesterday that, for me were unacceptable. We have to respect one another; we have to show respect,” he added.
The comments followed Bodø’s Norwegian rival playing on the edge of the rules and managing to get Michael Olise sent off on the night.
When asked if he would have done the same thing to get a result against Bayern, Haikin remained firm on his stance.
“No. For me, it’s unacceptable. So, yes, it finished 3-3, [and they take] one point – congratulations to them [Viking FK].
“But it was one point, not a win. We have to remember that too,” said Haikin, whose team lost 5-0 to Bayern back on Matchday 1.
