Olympique Lyonnais’ Mohamed Ouédraogo (23) has sustained a serious knee injury in training and is set to be absent for several months, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Ouédraogo joined from Sparta Prague over the summer transfer window and has thus far struggled for game time at his new club. He has played just four matches in all competitions, including just two starts. The Burkina Faso international has struggled with the competition provided by the presence of Abner and Nicolas Tagliafico at left-back, however, the new signing was important for squad depth, given Lyon’s UEFA Europa League obligations this season.
Ouédraogo went away with the Burkina Faso national team for the current international break, but did not make it onto the pitch. And the left-back has now suffered an cruciate ligament injury in his knee, L’Équipe understands, which will rule him out for several months. It is unclear whether he will be expected back before the end of the season.
