According to Sky Germany, Manuel Neuer will not travel to Dortmund and will therefore miss Saturday’s match against BVB.
Although the goalkeeper keeper returned to training sooner than expected, he supposedly experienced pain in his body.
BILD also reported on the 39-year-old’s absence earlier this afternoon, stating he drove home rather than join the team bus to the airport.
Ahead of the business end of the season, the German record champions don’t want to take any risks with Neuer after his muscle tear.
As a result, the Bavarians are expected to field Jonas Urbig in goal, as they have in the recent past when Neuer has been absent.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper has featured in three of Bayern’s last five Bundesliga outings, claiming two wins and a defeat.
