We now know the Round of 16 ties for this season’s Champions League campaign, and a Supercomputer has already predicted the remainder of the tournament.
Friday’s draw has produced some mouth-watering ties to look forward to in March: Real Madrid vs Manchester City, Bodo/Glimt vs Sporting CP, Paris Saint-Germain vs Chelsea, Newcastle United vs Barcelona, Galatasaray vs Liverpool, Atletico Madrid vs Tottenham, Atalanta vs Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen vs Arsenal.
Premier League leaders Arsenal were already the tournament favourites before Friday’s draw. Their odds have now shortened even further after learning that they’ll face the winners of Bodo/Glimt vs Sporting CP in the quarter-finals if they overcome the challenge of Bayer Leverkusen.
Supercomputer Predicts 2025-26 Premier League Table in Full
The Premier League table could look very different in some key areas by the time May rolls around.
On the opposite side of the Champions League bracket, Arsenal’s Premier League title rivals Man City appear to have their work cut out this year. If Pep Guardiola’s side beat Real Madrid – and that’s a big if – they could then face Bayern Munich in the quarters. PSG, Chelsea, Galatasaray or Liverpool would be their semi-final opponents.
BettingLounge’s Supercomputer has crunched the numbers, simulating the knockout phase 10,000 times, and reached a conclusion on which team will now lift the European Cup at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on May 30. Let’s take a closer look at its predictions.
Round of 16 (All scores on aggregate)
According to the Supercomputer’s calculations, Manchester City *will* knock 15-time winners Real Madrid out of Europe’s premier club competition in the Round of 16.
Elsewhere, Chelsea will defeat PSG 4-3 on aggregate, while Barcelona will beat Newcastle United.
Tottenham are currently struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table and their Champions League adventure will come to an end after a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Atletico.
Bayern Munich and Arsenal will crush Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively, recoding 5-1 victories over two legs.
Real Madrid 2-3 Manchester City
Bodo/Glimt 2-2 Sporting CP (Sporting CP win on pens)
Paris Saint-Germain 3-4 Chelsea
Newcastle 2-4 Barcelona
Galatasaray 1-4 Liverpool
Atletico Madrid 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Atalanta 1-5 Bayern Munich
Bayer Leverkusen 1-5 Arsenal
Quarter-Finals (All scores on aggregate)
Into the quarter-finals. Liverpool and Chelsea will renew their Champions League rivalry. The tie goes all the way to penalties and it’s Arne Slot’s side who ultimately prevail.
Guardiola will be defeated by Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich, who win 3-2 on aggregate, while Barcelona beat Atletico in a 5-3 thriller. As for Arsenal, they record a comfortable 6-2 aggregate win over Portuguese outfit Sporting.
Chelsea 3-3 Liverpool (Liverpool win on pens)
Manchester City 2-3 Bayern Munich
Barcelona 5-3 Atletico Madrid
Sporting CP 2-6 Arsenal
Semi-Finals (All scores on aggregate)
Six-time European champions Liverpool are denied another appearance in a Champions League final by Bayern Munich, who seal a 4-2 win over two legs.
Arsenal, meanwhile, make things look easy with a convincing 4-1 win over Lamine Yamal and co.
Liverpool 2-4 Bayern Munich
Barcelona 1-4 Arsenal
Final
Sorry, Arsenal fans. More heartbreak awaits, with a penalty shootout defeat to Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich expected at the end of May.
This would be only Arsenal’s second-ever appearance in a Champions League final (they lost to Barcelona in 2006). Bayern, on the other hand, move level with AC Milan to secure their seventh European Cup.
Bayern Munich 1-1 Arsenal (Bayern Munich win on pens)
2025-26 Champions League Winners: Bayern Munich.
