During the winter transfer window, 18-year-old Felipe Chávez joined 1. FC Köln on loan from Bayern Munich in search of more playing time.
So far, however, the youngster has only featured for one minute across three games.
Speaking at a press conference, Köln coach Lukas Kwasniok revealed that Chávez could get a bigger role against Augsburg on Friday.
“I can imagine that the overall setup in Augsburg will change slightly, so that his qualities will be called upon more,” Kwasniok said, comparing Friday’s fixture with Köln’s recent matches against RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim.
“He plays a role in our plans. We’ll see whether he can help us from the start or provide impact off the bench.”
Prior to his move to Köln, Chávez featured for 12 minutes in two games for Bayern’s first team.
