The 39-year-old could extend his stay with FC Bayern depending on how his body holds up at the end of the current 2025-26 campaign.

According to sources close to Kicker.de, Bayern Munich’s bosses would more than welcome another year with Manuel Neuer in the team.
However, the veteran goalkeeper has explained he intends to base his decision solely on his physical condition come the end of the season.
Neuer has decided that experiencing a different league abroad, similar to Thomas Müller’s in Vancouver, is out of the question for him.
The 39-year-old apparently wants to end his career at the German record champions, either at the end of this season or in the future.
Should Neuer sign a one-year extension until 2027, he must give Urbig even more playing time next season to further his development.
If the 2014 World Cup winner does not extend his contract, Bayern would at least consider exploring the goalkeeper market.
Loanees Daniel Peretz and Alexander Nübel – currently at Southampton FC and VfB Stuttgart respectively – are not in the club’s plans.
The Bavarians are trying to find a permanent solution for both shot-stoppers in the summer when their respective loan spells end.
