BVB veterans Marco Reus and Mats Hummels have contracts expiring in 2023. Per Sky, the club would like to do something about that. It comes to no surprise that Dortmund want a new contract for their captain, but Hummels’ strong start to the season has clearly altered their decision.
In the summer, Hummels even said that, “I’ve told (Dortmund Sporting Director) Sebastian Kehl that if I put myself in BVB’s place, I would not extend with me right now.”
The 33-year-olds should return to the pitch soon after missing the game against Köln over the weekend.
