Bayern Munich confirmed on Tuesday that Harry Kane had to miss team training, because of an illness. The Englishman was also absent from training on Wednesday, meaning his participation in Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against high-flying Hoffenheim is in doubt.
Kane has featured in every Bundesliga game for Vincent Kompany’s side this season, returning 22 goals and providing four assists. Bayern’s leading goalscorer also has an excellent record against Hoffenheim, winning each of his four appearances for the Sinsheim club, scoring four goals and creating two.
Mini-crisis for Bayern Munich?
Winless in their last two Bundesliga games, Augsburg brought an end to Bayern’s 27-game unbeaten streak in Germany’s top flight, while they were held to a 2-2 draw against Hamburg last weekend.
And with Borussia Dortmund playing Wolfsburg on Saturday, a win would see die Schwarzgelben close the gap to Bayern to just three points ahead of their game against Hoffenheim, who have lost just one of their last 12 Bundesliga games, moving Christian Ilzer’s side into third.
