Bild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Grischa Prömel, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Despite conceding three goals in six of their seven games since the turn of the year, Frankfurt decided not to pursue a defensive midfielder in the winter window; they will look to reinforce the position in the summer.
Names such as Wataru Endo of Liverpool and Wolfsburg target Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge have been linked previously, but no move was deemed possible.
Instead, the attack was invested in with Younes Ebnoutalib (€8m, Elversberg), Arnaud Kalimuendo (loan, Nottingham Forest) and Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab (€200k, Hoffenheim) joining, as well as left-back Keita Kosugi (€6.5m, Djurgarden).
Frankfurt’s summer plans:
Catejan Lenz of Bochum is a known target, and now die Adler are the next Bundesliga club to be interested in Prömel of Hoffenheim.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and has already attracted interest from RB Leipzig as well as hometown team VfB Stuttgart.
