Nina Drama Claims Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Was ‘Rigged’ After What She Saw During Fight

Despite sending his opponent to hospital with a double fracture of the jaw, Anthony Joshua’s victory over Jake Paul has still been questioned.

YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, managed to pull one of the biggest surprises in boxing by getting the active former two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, to face him in the ring. The two faced off in Miami, Florida on Friday evening, and Paul survived six rounds against his much bigger opponent before being trapped in the corner and hit with a stinging blow to the chin which meant he could no longer continue.

However, in spite of the devastating finish, fans and those involved in combat sports have questioned the integrity of the event, with one UFC reporter even claiming that the whole bout was scripted.

Nina Marie Danielle, better known as Nina Drama, suggested that Joshua was told to go easy on his less experienced opponent. During a watchalong on KICK, the UFC reporter said: “Maybe they were like, ‘don’t go too hard on him. Let’s draw it out. Let’s draw it out for the people.'”

Before going on to say: “I’ve never seen Joshua fight like that. There were so many times when Joshua just left it out, he just left his jab out there. He could have followed up. ‘Oh, he’s pushing him back, he’s trying to keep the distance’. Okay fine.

“But then look. Half the time he’s kinda like this, then nothing. Okay, sure.”

Drama doubled down on her view of the spectacle, adding: “Nothing. You’re going to tell me Joshua couldn’t figure the distance out? A professional boxer of how many years couldn’t figure the distance out between him and Jake Paul? The whole time? It took how many rounds? Get the f*** out of here, that’s crazy.”

She finished off saying: “How many punches did Joshua miss?” It seems that it was a situation where the Olympic gold medallist had no hope of gaining any credit, except for his bank account, of course.

It could be argued that Joshua used the fight against Paul to help incorporate new training methods. After recently teaming up with Oleksandr Usyk and his backroom staff, AJ would have wanted a few rounds to help put in place the new techniques he has developed. Considering this was the 36-year-old’s first fight since a devastating defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, and with aspirations of facing long-term rival Tyson Fury in 2026, it would have made little sense for him to take Paul out immediately.

Following the sixth-round knockout, Jake Paul instantly responded to accusations of the fight being rigged on social media. He posted an image of his broken jaw just before being taken to surgery on Instagram. The photo shows Paul’s jaw broken in two places, showcasing the power that Joshua still holds. Immediately after the bout, though, the social media star still called out Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for a fight before the new year. It’s hard to tell if Paul was under any sort of pain relief at that time.
