Antoine Semenyo looks set to be the main attraction in the January transfer window with Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur all keen on the Ghana international, according to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs.
With United and City frontrunners to sign him, the Red Devils will be desperate to recruit a player who could be the most exciting addition of the INEOS era so far.
Having signed a new contract with Bournemouth in the summer, Semenyo has a release clause in his contract which is worth £65million, a sum that has got a number of clubs very interested.
Man United Have Already Agreed Personal Terms
While competition is fierce to sign the 25-year-old, Man United are in a strong position to sign him having already agreed personal terms with the Bournemouth star.
Described as ‘world-class’ by Cherries teammate Justin Kluivert, Semenyo has been one of the Premier League’s best this term, scoring eight goals in 16 Premier League appearances.
With goals aplenty and versatility that makes him a real threat across the entire attacking line, it’s no surprise that the Red Devils are keen to sign the Ghanaian star in order to compliment Matheu Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
Semenyo Could Be Game-Changer For Ineos
It was a good summer in the transfer market for Man United with Mbeumo and Cunha both making a real impact in the first half of the season. Sesko has done okay, but there’s room for improvement there.
In Semenyo, Man United could sign a player who is the complete package in attack. Not just a creator and not just a goalscorer, the Bournemouth star offers a genuine all-round threat in attack. He’s shown it with the Cherries and it’s not by fluke that so many clubs are interested in signing him.
With Man United in need of crucial quality and versatility in attack, Semenyo could be the perfect addition and at £65milllion, it could offer decent value for money, with the 25-year-old surely worth much more in today’s market.
Of course, it’s going to be difficult to beat the competition to his signature. Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal can all offer genuine aspirations of challenging for the Premier League and Champions League. The Red Devils may be on the upward curve, but there’s still a long way to go.
If Semenyo joins, there’s every chance that he becomes Man United’s talisman and has the potential to be a modern day club favourite.
