Manchester United have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo. The Red Devils are preparing for a busy January as they look to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of the second half of the campaign.
Having already signed Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha over the summer, the signing of a new forward would make the Premier League giants a huge threat for other teams as they look to propel themselves up the table.
With Semenyo, they have identified a player who could undoubtedly improve them. The question is whether they’ll be able to get a deal over the line.
Man United In Pole Position To Sign Semenyo
Manchester United have pulled ahead of their rivals in the pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, according to reports from The Independent. Semenyo has a £65million release clause in his Bournemouth deal that comes into effect on January 1.
Providing that the Red Devils are able to get a deal done by January 10, they are understood to be frontrunners to pip their rivals to the signature with personal terms already discussed.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are also keen on the ‘world class’ forward, however the 25-year-old favours a move to Old Trafford.
While the £65m release clause is non-negotiable, clubs will need to negotiate over payment terms with the Cherries in order to force the deal through.
