Spanish football’s leading clubs have this week learned the identity of their upcoming opponents in the Round-of-32 in this season’s Copa del Rey.
To begin, for reigning champions Barcelona, a trip to minnows CD Guadalajara lies in wait.
The fixture has been pencilled in for next week, on Wednesday, December 17th, in Castilla–La Mancha.
For Real Madrid, meanwhile, lower league opposition also lies in wait, in the form of CF Talavera de la Reina.
Los Blancos, like Barcelona, will take to the pitch in this season’s Spanish domestic cup for the first time next Wednesday, away from home.
Elsewhere, Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid have been pitted against Atlético Baleares, Athletic Club will make the trip to Ourense, Real Betis face a clash with Real Murcia, and Villarreal will lock horns with Segunda leaders Real Racing Club.
