Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold is facing up to a lengthy incoming spell on the sidelines.
This comes after the extent of the Englishman’s latest injury setback was confirmed.
Defender Alexander-Arnold for his part featured from the off on Wednesday night, as Real Madrid locked horns with Athletic Club in a La Liga clash.
After shining across the opening 45 minutes, however, the right-back was forced off shortly after the half-time break.
And after a round of medical tests back in Spain’s capital on Thursday, Real Madrid announced that Alexander-Arnold has suffered ‘a muscular injury to the rectus anterior quadriceps in his left leg’.
Los Blancos’ statement failed to clarify just how long they expect to be without their summer signing’s contributions for the weeks ahead.
But an insight into precisely as much has since been provided by club insider Arancha Rodriguez, who confirms that TAA is facing up to around two months out of action.
