AS Monaco duo Ansu Fati and Folarin Balogun will play no part in Friday evening’s match against Stade Brestois.
Balogun was injured during Saturday’s win over Paris Saint-Germain. The USMNT forward was seen holding his thigh in the final moments. Speaking at Wednesday’s press conference attended by Get French Football News, Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed that Balogun had suffered a minor muscular injury and that, if he were to play against Brest, there was a chance of a setback. He could, however, return to face Galatasaray in midweek.
Fati has sustained a hamstring injury, Pocognoli confirmed. The Barcelona loanee sustained the injury at the end of Tuesday’s session. The club are awaiting the results of the tests. Pocognoli confirmed that Eric Dier and Christian Mawissa are also still out, but there is hope that the duo will return before the winter break.
Monaco face Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, 14th December and then AJ Auxerre in the Coupe de France the following weekend.
