Everything you need to know about Chelsea’s injury situation ahead of the clash with Leeds…
Team news: “Everyone is fine,” Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning. “Romeo (Lavia) is still recovering. “Dario (Essugo), he was okay and started some sessions with us. He now needs to slow down a little bit. He will be out again, hopefully nothing important.”
Cole Palmer latest: “He is available,” Maresca said. “He was on the bench last game. With 10 players, it was more complicated for Cole because he needs to come back in terms of fitness condition. The idea is to give him some minutes until he can play 90 minutes.”
Caicedo replacement: Moises Caicedo is set to miss the game after getting sent off against Arsenal. “For sure, again, we are a better team with Cole, with Moi, with Levi, but when these players are not available, we need to find solutions. Now we need to do something different.”
Reece James plan: “It’s complicated,” Maresca said of Reece James starting vs Leeds. “I would like to start him every game, but we need to see.”
Leeds injury news: Chelea’s next opponents were dealt a blow on Saturday after Daniel James picked up a hamstring injury in the defeat to Man City. “I hope it’s not too bad but straight after the game it didn’t look too good so it could be that he’s out for a while,” Whites boss Daniel Farke said.
