FPL latest injury news on Gabriel, Semenyo, Mohammed Kudus, Fernandez for GW12

The Premier League returns this weekend and with it FPL as Gameweek 12 kicks off on Saturday afternoon

The Premier League is set to return with a bang, featuring several high-profile matches including the much-anticipated North London Derby. However, a host of top clubs are grappling with injury woes, which could pose a challenge for Fantasy Premier League managers as they finalise their squads ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

football.london offers a helping hand by listing some popular picks who might be ruled out for Gameweek 12….

Gabriel Magalhaes

Arsenal will have to make do without Gabriel for the north London showdown against Tottenham after he picked up an injury while on duty for Brazil. He sustained a thigh issue during the second half of their friendly match against Senegal over the international break.

While the full extent of Gabriel’s injury remains unknown, there are suggestions that he could be out of action until January. Regardless, he won’t be fit in time to face Spurs and is expected to be replaced in defence by Cristhian Mosquera, reports the Express.

Antoine Semenyo

Bournemouth also had a scare over the international break, with Semenyo withdrawing from the Ghana squad. It was later revealed that he had suffered a ligament strain, which worsened during his country’s match against Japan.

Whether the sought-after winger, linked with moves to Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City recently, will recover in time to take on West Ham this weekend is still uncertain, with the FPL website giving him a 75 per cent chance of playing.

Enzo Fernandez

Chelsea are anxiously monitoring the fitness of Fernandez after he was forced to withdraw early from international duty with Argentina. The midfielder, who has been nursing a knee issue, revealed that he had been advised to take ‘two or three weeks’ of rest.

This could potentially rule him out of this weekend’s clash against Burnley. However, there is a glimmer of hope that his injury may not be as severe as first thought, indicating a late decision will likely be made on his participation.

Ezri Konsa

Konsa withdrew from the England squad last week and was absent for their match against Albania. The defender experienced tightness in his calf and left the camp to prevent exacerbating the issue.

Barring any recent setbacks, it appears probable that Konsa will be fit enough to feature in the match against Leeds United.

Mohammed Kudus

Tottenham are eager to have Kudus available for the upcoming north London derby. He was deemed ‘touch-and-go’ for the recent fixture against Manchester United, a match he ultimately sat out due to an injury.

The same issue also caused Kudus to miss Ghana’s recent games, but he might be ready to face Arsenal after using the international break to recuperate.
