Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed that Eugen Polanski has been appointed head coach on a permanent basis.

He initially took over as interim coach following Gerardo Seoane’s sacking in September

After guiding Die Fohlen to three wins in a row before the international break, the 39-year-old has now been given a permanent contract until 2028.

“We are very pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with Eugen in open, constructive, and appreciative discussions,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach’s head of sport, Rouven Schröder.

“From the very beginning, he impressed us with his professional and personal qualities, and we are confident that, with him as head coach, we can continue the positive development of the past few weeks.”

Polanski expressed his delight at taking on the role permanently.

“I have never hidden what this role at my hometown club means to me,” said the former Gladbach player.

“Being the head coach at Borussia brings me immense joy and fills me with pride. The trust shown by the club’s management is a great motivation and a confirmation of the work of the entire team.”
