Milan set for salary discussion with Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski

Milan are seriously considering a move for Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski next summer, with the club’s management having already established contact with the player’s entourage. According to a report from Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo, a key meeting is already on the agenda.

The key upcoming step in the potential transfer involves a meeting between Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, and Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, scheduled for the next few weeks.

Focus on Salary Structure

The primary objective of this meeting is to discuss a potential salary structure that would be compatible with Milan’s economic parameters.

Lewandowski currently earns a substantial €20 million net annually at Barcelona—a figure that is three times the salary of Milan’s highest-paid player, Rafael Leão. The purpose of the upcoming talks is to lay the groundwork for a possible agreement by attempting to bridge this significant financial gap.

It is noted that agent Zahavi maintains excellent relations with the Rossoneri management, having successfully negotiated the transfer of Nkunku from Chelsea to Milan last summer.

Ibrahimović Champions the Move

The operation has a strong backer within the club: Zlatan Ibrahimović, a senior advisor to RedBird. Ibrahimović reportedly sees the current Barcelona No. 9 as the player capable of providing the necessary quality leap for the team, similar to the impact Zlatan himself had upon his return to the club in January 2020. Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona expires in June 2026.
