Bayer Leverkusen suffered their first Bundesliga defeat under Kasper Hjulmand on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Bayern Munich.
Hjulmand admitted that his side could have done better, but also emphasized that Bayern are simply too strong at the moment.
“We have to recognize that Bayern are an absolutely top team in Europe. They punished our mistakes immediately,” said Hjulmand in his post-match interview.
“We’re not satisfied with our performance, we have a lot to work on, but overall Bayern were just too good. We have to acknowledge that.”
Bayer Leverkusen will look to get back to winning ways when they face Benfica on Wednesday.
