Worrying Update on Glasner’s Crystal Palace Future Amid Man Utd Links

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, a target for Manchester United, is one of the most highly-rated coaches in the game at the moment after an impressive spell with the Eagles, and BBC reporter Sami Mokbel has confirmed that his chances of staying at Selhurst Park are ‘remote’.

Under Glasner, Palace have lifted two trophies over the last few months, and they are currently on a run of 19 games without defeat in all competitions. It’s been a phenomenal spell for Palace, and Glasner has to take plenty of the credit for steering them in the right direction. Losing him would be a complete disaster, but it’s natural that clubs, such as Manchester United, start to pay attention after such an impressive period with the capital outfit.

If Palace want to continue pushing forward and progressing, then keeping hold of Glasner will be imperative, but it’s certainly not going to be easy with clubs looking to secure his signature.

Oliver Glasner

According to BBC reporter Mokbel, Glasner’s chance of staying at Crystal Palace are ‘remote’ amid interest from Manchester United. The Eagles won’t give up trying to convince him, but he and the club don’t appear to be aligned in terms of their ambitions after what happened in the summer transfer window.

It’s believed that Glasner would be on Manchester United’s list of targets if they were to replace Ruben Amorim at any point, but INEOS remain in support of their manager as it stands. The prospect of Glasner, whose contract expires next summer, remaining at Selhurst Park haven’t been discounted, but it’s not looking positive for the Eagles at the moment.

Palace currently find themselves sitting in third place in the Premier League table, a position they could only have dreamed of a few years ago. The London club are also competing in Europe and have won two trophies in 2025 after a long wait for silverware, so the prospect of Glasner departing must be scary for Palace supporters.

The attraction of joining a club like Manchester United might be too much for Glasner to turn down, but he is building a project at Palace which is clearly heading in the right direction.
