In the wake of TSG Hoffenheim’s 4-2 away victory over 1.FC Union Berlin, the visitor’s double goal-scorer Fisnik Asllani was over the moon with the result.
“It fills me with pride to win in Berlin. It’s very difficult; other teams have stumbled here. I’m happy we were able to win the game. We took on the fight and deserved to win.
“It’s also my hometown: scoring two goals here is very nice. My family was in the stadium, as were my friends, even a few former teachers. I had goosebumps when I walked in.
“Playing in this stadium and scoring two goals is a fantastic thing. It was a very successful day. But a striker also depends on his teammates, and I did a good job of putting the ball away today.
“I think if we continue like we did today, we can achieve a lot,” said the 23-year-old who once represented Union Berlin at youth academy level.
