Xavi Simons completed his long-awaited move to the English Premier League.
RB Leipzig confirmed the departure of Netherlands international Xavi Simons. The 22-year-old left the Bundesliga club for Tottenham Hotspur after his name was linked with Chelsea the entire summer.
Simons only joined Leipzig on a permanent transfer for €50 million in January after a couple of loan deals with PSG. According to reports, Spurs completed the transfer for €65 million after their attempt to pay the release clause of Morgan Gibbs-White was blocked by Nottingham Forest earlier this summer.
Simons scored 22 goals and assisted 24 in 78 appearances for Leipzig. Thomas Frank’s team showed their trust in him by handing him the number 7, which was previously worn by the club legend Son Heung-min.
