The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have slapped a steep new price-tag on the head of midfield starlet Fermín López.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Thursday provided the latest on the future of the 22-year-old.
Fermín is of course a man in-demand heading into the final days of the transfer window.
As much comes amid an ongoing push on the part of Premier League outfit Chelsea to bring the Spanish international to west London.
The Blues are understood to view Fermín as the missing piece from Enzo Maresca’s midfield ranks for the season ahead.
If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then any such transfer coming to fruition before the fast-approaching deadline is beginning to look increasingly unlikely.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of MD that:
‘Barça is clear about Fermín López: he’s not for sale. The club’s stance is so firm that it’s raised the price by another 20 million. If yesterday the price tag was set at a minimum of 70 million euros, now the price would be 90 million.’
