Inter made an underwhelming start to the latest edition of the Champions League, with Bayern Munich gabbing all the three points from the Nerazzurri’s den.
Bayern began the affair aggressively, with the visitors afforded multiple decent opportunities in the opening ten minutes of the game.
A sensational lofted through ball from Joshua Kimmich followed a delicate and crisp first touch of Leroy Sane, who managed to keep his balance and wriggle past a few defensive bodies before scoring the opener in the 25th minute of the match.
It was Sane’s shot that Danilo D’Ambrosio had intended to clear in the second half, but he could not do so, instead putting the ball into his own nets.
Bayern’s defence looked too colossal in front of Inter’s toothless attack as the Italian team joined Juventus and Milan in dropping points in the opening round of UEFA Champions League 2022/23. Here are the player ratings from Inter’s 2-0 defeat to the Bundesliga side.
