Die Werkself are hopeful they can keep the Swiss international for another season.
Granit Xhaka’s father Ragip is said to be trying to obtain offers for his son behind the scenes, Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger reports.
Apparently even the Swiss midfielder’s agent was kept unaware of some recent developments taking place.
AC Milan wanted him, but Leverkusen have no desire to let him leave or, if at all, only for fee beyond the €15million mark.
The report suggests the Italian club also felt this asking price for the 32-year-old is too expensive.
It is not yet certain whether Granit Xhaka will stay at Bayer Leverkusen this summer – a decision will be made during training camp in Brazil in two weeks.
