After three years at Holstein Kiel, Fiete Arp joins Denmark Superliga side Odense BK.
Bayern expected big things from Fiete Arp when they signed him from Hamburger SV for €3 million in 2019. However, he left the club as a free agent after only making one appearance for the Rekordmeister.
At Holstein Kiel, where he spent two seasons on loan before signing permanently in 2022, Arp played 95 games. During the club’s debut Bundesliga campaign, Arp scored in the comeback draw at Bayer Leverkusen and the stunning 4-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
However, he now departs the club for a mere €250k to join Odense BK. The newly-promoted club have the former Werder Bremen and Hannover midfielder Tom Trybull in their ranks. And they hired Alexander Zorniger, who was out of a club after being relieved of his duty by Greuther Fürth, as a head coach for the upcoming season.
Arp first came to prominence after his impressive half season alongside fellow youngster Tatsuya Ito, despite HSV ending the campaign famously relegated from the Bundesliga. Hamburg now return to Germany’s top-flight after a seven-year absence. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old will ply his trade outside Germany for the first time in his career.
