Roma are eager to bolster the midfield and are set to accelerate their hot pursuit of promising midfielder Sem Steijn of Dutch outfits Twente.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, via ForzaRomaInfo, that the Giallorossi are extremely fond of the 2001-class midfielder and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is prepared to have intense talks with the Everdise side to have a better understanding of Steijn’s availability and potentially lure him to the Stadio Olimpico.
The two clubs have quite a good connection given that they completed the transfer of wing-back Anass Salah-Eddine from Twente to Roma in the winter market.
So far this season, Steijn has taken the Everdiese by storm, amassing 23 goals and five assists in 29 games-played within the league, demonstrating his ability to be influential in the final third.
Hence, the Dutchman has attracted quite a few suitors as Feyenoord and Serie A giants Inter are also keen on acquiring the €16m midfielder whose contract is set to expire in 2027.
