Ranking Every Match at WWE WrestleMania 41

A weekend that was months in the making, WrestleMania 41 has been and gone. The Grandest Stage of them All has never been grander, with a cumulative total of over 120,000 wrestling fans flocking to Las Vegas to witness the Show of Shows from the Allegiant Stadium. A two-night spectacle that promised to create history, the WWE Universe witnessed countless memorable moments that will be discussed for years to come.

Having witnessed some of the industry’s greatest inducted into the Hall of Fame on the Friday, the following two days played host to numerous WWE Superstars who will one day join those same legends in the prestigious Hall of Fame. With a total of 14 matches on display, the encounters ranged from World Title bouts to non-title Street Fights.

With wrestlers from elsewhere producing jaw-dropping reactions and other WWE Superstars returning after months away, the matches that took place have divided the WWE Universe. With numerous highs and lows on show, these are all the encounters that took place at WrestleMania 41, ranked from worst to best.

Randy Orton vs. Joe Hendry

Singles Match

What may be a harsh placement, the encounter between the Viper, Randy Orton, and TNA World Champion, Joe Hendry, is last due to it only going over three minutes. With not enough time to establish this contest as a true, meaningful match, it was one of the more memorable WrestleMania moments that came out of the weekend.

The 14-time World Champion Orton was originally set to face Kevin Owens, but a real-life injury meant his WrestleMania match was turned into an open challenge. Answered by fan favourite Joe Hendry, whose earworm entrance theme filled the Allegiant Stadium, the following match was a short but sweet affair in which the Viper came out on top.

The New Day vs. The War Raiders

World Tag Team Championship Match

A match that many of the WWE Universe would be forgiven for forgetting happened, the in-ring showcase between The War Raiders and The New Day wasn’t anything to write home about. A match that many thought should have taken place on the weekly product, the WWE Tag Team Championship TLC match pencilled in for SmackDown is more deserving of a WrestleMania spot.

The New Day emerged victorious in this encounter, finding themselves the most successful tag team in WWE history following their twelfth championship win. An iconic team that deserves their flowers, their current run as heels hasn’t connected, with many fans underwhelmed with them leaving Las Vegas with gold around their waists.

AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul

Singles Match

Another forgettable bout, expectations were high going into WrestleMania for the match between Logan Paul and AJ Styles. The WWE Universe hasn’t been shy when discussing the Phenomenal One’s CV of bouts at the Showcase of Immortals. One of professional wrestling’s greatest talents, Styles’ run of WrestleMania matches doesn’t reflect his talents, with underwhelming encounters being the running theme of his Mania contests.

There were hopes that this would change when it was announced he would face Paul, who isn’t a fan favourite but knows how to put on a good match. Two talented in-ring talents, it just didn’t click on the night, with the most memorable moment being a brief appearance from Karrion Kross.

Jey Uso vs. Gunther

World Heavyweight Championship Match

The first match of WrestleMania 41’s two-night schedule, Jey Uso’s emotional triumph against Gunther was a wholesome way to kick-start proceedings. Finally getting the better of the Ring General, having previously boasted a dismal record of 0-3, the crowd were glad to see the Yeeter get his crowning moment on the Grandest Stage of them All.

But sentimentality aside, the in-ring affair wasn’t gripping. Following a fantastic reign from Gunther, many of the fans online have discussed anger at him tapping out in just five seconds, a notably short time to give up and something that doesn’t match his in-ring persona. Although many are excited about Jey as World Champion, the way in which it occurred could have been better.

John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes

Undisputed WWE Championship Match

The headline match for WrestleMania 41, the encounter between Cody Rhodes and John Cena, has produced heated discourse online. The Champ left his final WrestleMania as a record-setting 17-time World Champion, something many of the WWE Universe are glad to see. However, the match that the record was achieved in was not befitting of history.

With the leader of the Cenation pulling out countless Attitude Adjustments, it was the American Nightmare who looked like winning, with a visual pinfall being witnessed, just not by the referee. After an underwhelming back and forth, Travis Scott made his way to the ring and helped Cena win. An awful way to end the reign of Cody Rhodes as champion, utilising a celebrity act in the biggest match of the weekend, has fans scratching their heads.

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lyra Valkyria & Becky Lynch

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Originally set to feature Bayley, the Hugger was written off in storyline, making way for the highly-anticipated return of Becky Lynch. Having not been seen in a WWE ring since June of last year, the Lasskicker showed no signs of ring rust, and clearly hadn’t lost her knack for winning.

Emerging victorious on her first night back in the company, she pinned the woman who she failed to defeat on her final match before her hiatus, Liv Morgan. Becoming Women’s Tag Team Champion along with Lyra Valkyria, who is now a double champion, the only gripe fans have is that Morgan may have deserved more following a stellar run in 2024 and the early months of 2025.

Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

Singles Match

A match that was historic before the first bell rung, the first-ever non-title women to happen at WrestleMania between Jade Cargill and Naomi, was a passable contest. Orchestrating a heated rivalry to add further intrigue to this encounter, Naomi’s new-found role as a heel has done wonders for her career, with the former Glow superstar finally sinking her teeth into meaningful feuds.

Cargill left Las Vegas with the win, putting her WrestleMania record up to 2-0. Only her second in-ring contest of the year, it was clear to see she had been putting in the work, with numerous jaw-dropping feats of athleticism impressing the WWE Universe.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair

WWE Women’s Title Match

One of the more curious matches going into WrestleMania, the line-blurring feud produced by Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton, was one of the Road to WrestleMania strong points. Infamously going off script on WWE SmackDown, the title match became personal.

Walking into her first WrestleMania as World Champion, the Buff Barbie left Las Vegas with a perfect record on the Grandest Stage of them All, defeating the most successful women’s wrestler, Charlotte Flair. A good match, but nothing that many will run to rewatch. It wasn’t as underwhelming as some of the aforementioned entrants. There were, however, some questionable moments where fans wondered if Flair was trying to make life difficult for Stratton.

El Grande Americano vs. Rey Fenix

Singles Match

A last-minute change was on show for this encounter, with WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio originally pencilled in to face El Grande Americano. However, after tearing his groin on the final SmackDown before WrestleMania, he enlisted the help of fellow luchador Rey Fenix, who stepped up to the plate despite being in the company for merely weeks.

A match that couldn’t fail, both Chad Gable and Fenix put on a fantastic match that the WWE Universe had no complaints about. Notably, Americano produced a 450 moonsault senton from the top rope that blew off the roof of the Allegiant Stadium, a microcosm of the talent on display in this encounter.

Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight

United States Championship Match

In the fourth match of WrestleMania Saturday, many noted that the encounter between Jacob Fatu and LA Knight was the first showcase of the weekend that truly felt like a spectacle deserving of the Grandest Stage of them All. Performing with the tenacity and drive that the Showcase of Immortals requires, this mid-card brawl was a joyous bout.

With LA Knight continuing to step up to the mark when called upon, he was trusted with the United States Championship again following a dismal Shinsuke Nakamura reign on the Road to WrestleMania. Passing on the title to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 41, the Samoan Werewolf is sure to enjoy a spell as champion.

Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest

Sin City Street Fight

Battling on the Grandest Stage of them All for the second consecutive year, it wasn’t hard for Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest to outdo their previous encounter, which lasted mere seconds. Walking into Las Vegas, both were disappointed, as their fantastic 2024s were deserving of a World Title match for the pair.

However, they channelled their frustration into something productive, orchestrating a fantastic Sin City Street Fight. With numerous table bumps and steel step shots, the match will be best remembered for the Scottish Psychopath’s hilarious tweet mid-match. With McIntyre coming out on top, let’s hope he can find himself within the World Championship scene soon, something he deserves.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor vs. Bron Breakker vs. Penta

Intercontinental Championship Match

The first of three multi-competitor matches, the WWE Universe was sceptical about the number of non-singles matches on the card, but it was a move that paid dividends. The Fatal Four-Way between Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and Penta was an enjoyable showcase of four of WWE’s most reliable acts.

From Breakker spearing Carlito through a table to Dominik turning on his Judgement Day stablemate, Balor, the victory for ‘Dirty’ Dom produced heart-warming scenes for someone who walked into Las Vegas as a supposed heel. Running back to the ring to celebrate his triumph, the son of Rey Mysterio left the Allegiant Stadium a fan favourite, with the match helping him achieve this status.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk

Triple Threat Match

The best of the two main events at WrestleMania 41, this cinematic, dramatic encounter was everything and more that the WWE Universe was expecting. Pitting three of WWE’s greatest acts against each other, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk proved why they closed out WrestleMania Saturday.

A brawl that had Paul Heyman at the centre of it, the closing stages of this Triple Threat bout saw the former Wiseman reject both his Tribal Chief and Punk. Aligning with Rollins in a jaw-dropping move, it meant the Visionary finally got his flowers in an important match. Moments such as a teased Shield powerbomb and a well-performed finishing sequence meant fans were in awe of what they saw.

Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley

Women’s World Championship Match

Undisputedly the best match that took place at WrestleMania 41, this opening bout on Night Two is already being labelled as the greatest opening match in WrestleMania history. Iyo Sky’s retention of her Women’s World Championship saw her end Bianca Belair’s undefeated streak at the Showcase of Immortals, as well as silencing Rhea Ripley, who has become undeniable over the past few months.

The chemistry between all three competitors cemented them as three of WWE’s greatest acts across both divisions. Clearly disgruntled at not receiving a main event slot, much like others over WrestleMania weekend, they put their frustration to good use, producing one of the greatest WWE matches in recent history.
