After a wild and mind-blowing ending to Night One of WrestleMania 41, all eyes are now on Night Two, where John Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE

Championship in the main event as he attempts to win a historic 17th world title. While Cena has been at this stage many times in his career, a new version will enter the Allegiant Stadium on Sunday night. The 16-time world champion infamously shocked the world when he turned heel at Elimination Chamber by attacking his WrestleMania opponent after he sold his soul to The Rock.

Since then, Cena has embraced a new persona. The once-beloved hero who always smiled and inspired people to “Never Give Up” has turned into a grim character who wears a frown on his face and despises the fans. He has been talking down on the audience since turning heel and has labeled his relationship with the WWE Universe as ‘toxic.’

During WrestleMania weekend, however, John Cena was captured breaking character at an exclusive event for fans. Contrary to the heel character he has portrayed over the past few weeks, the 16-time world champion was more like his babyface self while interacting with the WWE Universe. He thanked the people for coming out and spending a lot of their hard-earned money on the exclusive WrestleMania VIP experience. Specifically, he also had a verbal agreement with the people, who were understandably hyped about seeing Cena, to preserve their energy until the last match of Sunday night, which would be Cena’s final dance at WrestleMania.

Let’s all verbally agree right now that you will still have some enthusiasm when the last match goes out there on Sunday… I really hope you enjoy tomorrow night because it’s going to be my last one. In front of a crowd this enthusiastic, I couldn’t think of a better way to end… 20 years of being at WrestleMania. Thank you so much for having me. Let’s have one hell of a weekend.

As the saying goes, kayfabe is dead. Most WWE fans know that wrestlers play a role on television. And as Cena has shown over the years, he is very kind to his fans and has always provided them with terrific fan service and appreciation—unlike his character since turning heel.

As part of WrestleMania week, WWE fans can enjoy VIP experiences with their favorite WWE superstars, including Cena. As the 16-time world champ said, people splurged a fortune to partake in these special experiences the WWE offers. Some people spent up to $25,000 to have an intimate lunch with Cena during WrestleMania weekend.

While these events are the cherry-on-top during ‘Mania season, WWE fans are primarily here to witness the spectacle that will unfold in the ring. This Sunday, in particular, a lot of people seem eager to see Cena win his record-breaking 17th world title—even if he’s now playing the villain.
