Serie A league leaders Inter will take on Bayern Munich tomorrow evening in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final and the result will have a bearing on Simone Inzaghi’s long term future.
The Italian’s current deal at Inter runs out in the summer of 2026 and La Gazzetta dello Sport state that if the Nerazzurri go through to the next round tomorrow, Inzaghi will be guaranteed a new deal that will expire in 2027 but there will be an option for extension till the summer of 2028.
There will also be a salary adjustment involved. He currently earns €6.5 million per season and after the success, he could reach the €7 million mark.
Inter do not want to start the next season with a manager whose contract runs out at the end of the campaign and the belief is that even though Inzaghi’s renewal is merely a formality, both parties want to formally sort it out.
