Bayern Munich have approved a new contract for Hasan Salihamidžić. As reported by Bild, FCB’s supervisory board held a meeting at the Allianz Arena today where President Herbert Hainer proposed an extension for sporting director Salihamidžić until 2026.
Speaking to Sky Germany in July, Hainer raved about Salihamidžić: “I’m absolutely satisfied with his work. It’s also a lot of fun for Hasan. Also because he is now getting recognition for his work.”
Should Joshua Zirkzee join Bologna for €8.5m before Thursday’s deadline, Salihamidžić will have brought over €100m into the club through player sales, the first time Bayern has achieved this figure.
The 45-year-old has navigated the market well, signing Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax, Sadio Mané from Liverpool, French youth international Mathys Tel and Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt for a total of €137.5m plus bonuses.
Salihamidžić also negotiated a substantial fee for Robert Lewandowski, who joined Bayern Munich, and extended the contracts of Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman.
