Bayern Munich are struggling with injuries and now their latest star is sidelined. As reported by BILD, Raphaël Guerreiro (31) was absent from team training on Wednesday and instead worked individually at the club’s Säbener Straße HQ.
After long-term injuries to Alphonso Davies and Hirko Ito, Guerriero is the latest left-sided player to miss training. Davies suffered an ACL tear while on international duty with the Canada national team and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight months. Ito meanwhile after recently making his return suffered a broken metatarsal and is out for at least three months.
Should Guerreiro be sidelined for Friday’s Bundesliga game against Augsburg, that leaves Vincent Kompany short at left-back with three players sidelined. It’s likely one of Sacha Boey (24) or Josip Stanisic (25) – two right-backs – would deputise for the injured trio, or a player from the club’s youth system.
