Ermedin Demirovic finally ended his nine-game goal drought after coming on as a half-time substitute in VfB Stuttgart’s 2-2 draw with Holstein Kiel on Saturday.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international is Stuttgart’s top scorer in the Bundesliga this season with nine goals, but has lost his place in the starting line-up as the season has progressed.
This has led to speculation that the striker could leave Stuttgart this summer, just one year after joining from Augsburg.
However, Demirovic has now made it clear that he’s not thinking about finding a new club.
“I want to assert myself. I didn’t come here to leave immediately after the first difficult phase and look for a new club,” he told Bild.
“Of course I can’t be satisfied. But I always try to give my best. I try to fight my way into the team to get more playing time.
“A lot was expected of me at the start. I’ve scored nine goals now and I don’t think that’s too bad. I’m trying to give my all and I’m convinced I can score enough goals and be good for VfB.”
