Nathan Tella is doubtful for Bayer Leverkusen’s away game against Holstein Kiel on Saturday.
At his pre-match press conference on Friday, head coach Xabi Alonso said a decision will be made on the attacker’s availability after today’s training session.
“It has something to do with the hip,” Xabi Alonso revealed, according to Reuters, adding:
“It is no injury but we have to see how Nathan feels today in training. It’s a discomfort.”
Bayer Leverkusen put in an impressive performance against Bayern Munich last week, and although they were held to a 0-0 draw, Alonso believes the game had a positive effect on his side.
“We showed we can do it (against Bayern), but we have to keep doing it against any opponent. Tomorrow again, with good energy, with good football. This is what we want,” said the Spaniard.
Leverkusen are eight points behind Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table.
