Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick made the call not to allow midfielder Pablo Torre to depart the club on transfer deadline day.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has this evening provided an insight into the situation.
The name of youngster Torre has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 21-year-old had been identified as a last-minute winter target on the part of Portuguese heavyweights Porto.
Ahead of Nico González’s imminent move to Manchester City, Torre was earmarked as the ideal replacement.
Torre, for his part, has played a minimal role with Barcelona thus far this season, but has shone when afforded the opportunity.
And such exploits mean that the Spaniard continues to play an important role in the plans of boss Hansi Flick for the 2nd half of the campaign.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Fabrizio Romano that:
‘Barcelona informed Porto that they want to keep Pablo Torre at the club, as Hansi Flick has requested.’
