The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have been put on alert by transfer developments on the continent on Friday.
This comes amid confirmation that Bayer Leverkusen have touched base with Stade Rennais, over a potential deal for Mikayil Faye.
Defender Faye, for his part, only made the move to Rennes last summer, as part of a permanent transfer from the aforementioned Barcelona.
His performances since taking his talents to France, though, have evidently proven enough to impress Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Bayer Leverkusen made contact for Mika Faye as one of the three candidates for centre-back position.’
As alluded to above, keeping a close eye on developments between Rennes and Leverkusen over the coming week will be the board at Barcelona.
This comes with the Blaugrana having secured for themselves a 30% sell-on clause as part of Faye’s Ligue 1 switch.
