Championship side Hull City have reached an agreement with AS Monaco to sign midfielder Eliot Matazo (22), according to L’Equipe. Les Monégasques were prepared to part ways with Matazo as the Belgian midfielder has struggled for playing time during the current season. Matazo has made only two starts in seven appearances for Adi Hütter’s side across all competitions. The outlet understands that Hull City’s outlay to sign Matazo ranges between €2m and €2,5m.
Matazo has been a target for Monaco’s Ligue 1 rivals FC Nantes. Les Canaris reportedly spent several weeks negotiating with their Monaco counterparts. However, it appears the Championship side seems to have landed a decisive blow in the race to sign Matazo. The Belgian midfielder is yet to agree on personal terms with the Tigers.
