Jake Paul has made a demand for a rematch with Tommy Fury to take place, and that demand is that the pair go 12 rounds this time around. The two met in Saudi Arabia in February last year, where the latter handed the former his only loss in his boxing career to date, but the two have progressed a considerable amount since that encounter, Paul arguably more so than Fury.
Both men are currently searching for their next opponent in the world of boxing, with Paul seeing many big names rumoured as his next opponent following his landmark victory over the legendary Mike Tyson.
Tommy Fury’s Fight With Darren Till Cancelled
TNT didn’t trust the former UFC fighter to not use MMA moves in their bout
The former Love Island star was due to step into the ring with MMA star Darren Till, but tensions boiled over between the two, which ultimately led to that fight being cancelled. With the two launching verbal barbs at each other in the build-up to their fight in January, MMA fighter Till began to send threats in the direction of Fury, stating he was not afraid to get disqualified in their match-up by kicking him in the back of the head. Those threats were what led to the fight being cancelled, with the 25-year-old claiming the threats to resort to MMA tactics were absurd.
With the news of Fury cancelling his fight with Till, former opponents began to launch jibes on social media, with Paul simply tweeting “hahahaha” in response to the news. Meanwhile, another of his former opponents, KSI, tweeted: “Tommy Fury is scared of getting kicked in a boxing match, hahaha. Darren Till is not gonna kick you, mate; relax and prepare for your fight in January on Misfits.”
While Fury promised to find another opponent worthy of the fans in January, Till began to launch a foul-mouthed rant on X towards him, claiming it was a money-making tactic for the fight. KSI may have claimed that Till was not going to kick Fury in the head, but the MMA star was seen practising a move that is illegal in boxing, further fuelling the claim that he could resort to those tactics in their fight.
Jake Paul Responds to Tommy Fury Rematch Idea
The Problem Child wants 12 rounds this time around, rather than eight
With the pair’s schedule now seemingly freed up, it sees talk of a rematch between Fury and Paul start up again, but the former YouTuber wants to go longer than the eight rounds they fought in their initial cruiserweight bout in 2203. A rematch between the two could see Paul deflect some of the criticism he has faced since entering the boxing ring, with many claiming the 27-year-old has not shared the ring with someone in their prime.

While Paul has faced off with big names like Nate Diaz, who is arguably one of the most lethal fighters on the planet, that danger comes from the world of MMA, and you could argue there is a big difference between the Octagon and the boxing ring, as has been evidenced by Francis Ngannou’s mixed journey in the world of boxing. While Fury handed Paul his first loss in professional boxing, both men have vastly improved since that fight almost two years ago now, and those criticisms could be shaken off with a rematch.
