Barcelona’s deadline to register Dani Olmo for 2nd half of the season

An insight into Barcelona’s timeline when it comes to registering Dani Olmo for the 2nd half of the campaign has on Thursday been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards the Camp Nou brass as having until mid-January to get their financial affairs in sufficient order.

Midfielder Olmo was of course brought back to Barcelona over the summer, in a big-money transfer from RB Leipzig.

The Spanish international, though, was only registered with La Liga for the first half of the season.

This comes with the Blaugrana, amid the club’s long-discussed financial woes, having been unable to get their books in correct order for as much.

This means that Olmo, as things stand, will not be at the disposal of boss Hansi Flick for La Liga fixtures across the closing months of the term.

Amid ongoing work to ensure that the opposite proves the case, though, Barcelona have long been aware of the deadline put in place to balance their accounts.

As per a report from Sport, citing Cadena Ser, the Catalans will have until the weekend of January 18th/19th to close the operation.
