Seven years ago, Patrik Schick looked set to join Juventus from Sampdoria, but the deal fell through at the last minute after the striker failed his medical.

Schick opted to join Roma instead, and later moved on to RB Leipzig (on loan) and Bayer Leverkusen, who he has represented since 2020.

Now, La Gazetta dello Sport is reporting that Juventus could reignite their interest in Schick as they look to strengthen their front line in January.

Schick himself may be tempted to make the move after failing to secure a regular starting berth this season. Behind Victor Boniface in the pecking order, he has been limited to just five starts so far in the 2024/25 campaign.

However, the question is whether Leverkusen would be willing to let Schick go mid-season, as he is a very valuable backup to Boniface, especially if Juventus are only looking for a loan deal.

The alternative, according to the report, would be a permanent deal with performance-related payments, which may not be very attractive to the German champions either.

Schick remains under contract with Leverkusen until 2027.
