As reported by Bild, Bayer Leverkusen attacker Paulinho (22) is in negotiations with Brazilian duo Sao Paulo and Atlético Mineiro.
B04 head coach Gerardo Seoane confirmed that Paulinho is in talks to leave the club after being left out of their 2-1 defeat against Augsburg on Saturday: “Paulinho was in talks. We didn’t want a player in the squad who wasn’t 100% focussed.”
However, time is of the essence. The transfer window in Brazil shuts on Monday and so Sao Paulo and Atlético Mineiro have to move quick if they want to secure the signing of the attacker.
Paulinho has just one-year remaining on his current deal and wants more playing time. Last season, Paulinho played 24 Bundesliga games, averaging 50 minutes, scoring four and creating two.
Since his €18.5m transfer from Vasco da Gama in 2018, Paulinho has played 72 games across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring eight and creating five.
