An insight into the avenues which La Liga giants Barcelona could seek to make use of to sign Sporting CP standout Viktor Gyökeres has on Monday been forthcoming online.
For those who may have missed it, the name of striker Gyökeres has positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent days.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Swede has made his way to the top of the wishlist of Deco and co.
Barcelona are understood to be on the lookout for reinforcements at centre-forward, owing to Robert Lewandowski’s advancing years.
And Gyökeres, continuing to prove himself as one of the continent’s very best thus far this season (24 G/A in 16 appearances) appears to be the chosen one.
In efforts to strike a deal with their counterparts in Lisbon, though, the Blaugrana will need to pull out all the stops.
As per a report from Diario Sport, Deco and his team are therefore hopeful of using several bargaining chips to drive Gyökeres price-tag down.
First would be the inclusion of Vitor Roque – a summer target for Sporting – in part exchange.
And Barcelona would also be willing to forfeit both their buyback and sell-on clauses on Francisco Trincão – currently plying his trade at the Estádio José Alvalade – for a further reduction.
Add to this the fact that Sporting and their star frontman are understood to have an agreement in place that a sale will be sanctioned in the case of an offer being received for €60-70 million, and Sport conclude:
‘We have three factors that could bring Gyökeres closer to Barça.’
