Giovani Lo Celso will return to Villarreal on loan after reaching an agreement with Tottenham, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Argentine midfielder will once again work under Unai Emery, who was able to guide the Argentine international back to his best when he left the Premier League club in January to join the Yellow Submarine.
Lo Celso played a key role in getting Villarreal to the Champions League semi-finals last season. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish club have been able to agree a new loan deal for the Argentine, a loan that does not include an option to buy.
If a club wants to buy Lo Celso in January, Villarreal will lose the player and Spurs will sell if the right offer comes along.
At the time of writing nothing has been signed, but the player is very close to completing his move.
The 26-year-old played the second half of last season at La Cerámica, making a total of 22 appearances in which he scored one goal.
