A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set to captain his country in their next outing.
That’s according to French football insider Fabrice Hawkins, who points towards Aurélien Tchouaméni as the player in question.
Didier Deschamps’ France are for their part currently in the midst of preparations for a pair of upcoming Nations League fixtures.
First, on Thursday night, Les Bleus will lock horns with Israel, before making the trip to Belgium three days later.
And, in the first of these two outings at the least, it is the aforementioned Tchouaméni who is in line to lead France out of the tunnel.
As per the aforementioned Fabrice Hawkins, with Kylian Mbappé having stayed put with Real Madrid for the international break to work on his fitness, the frontman’s club teammate will take over the role of skipper on Thursday, against Israel.
