Serie A witnessed an absolute classic on Sunday evening in Florence, as home side Fiorentina picked up a 2-1 win over Milan in what was an action-packed encounter at the Franchi.
The star of the show was David de Gea, who has now saved three penalties in his time at Fiorentina. He denied both Theo Hernandez and Tammy Abraham from the spot during crucial stages of the game, with Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsson scoring at either ends of Christian Pulisic’s goal.
Moise Kean had also missed a penalty in the first half, which was was given away by Hernandez, who was sent off after the game for dissent.
De Gea was handed the Man of the Match accolade after the game, helping La Viola to only their second win of the Serie A season so far after their start to the campaign was fairly poor. They are getting back on track and De Gea is turning into an important figure for them.
